Star Wars: TIE Fighter demo (MS-DOS)
Description
DEMO OVERVIEW
This demo is an enhanced version of the cinematic
introduction from the original TIE Fighter. Whether you've played
TIE Fighter before or not, we hope you enjoy the new 3D rendered
scenes that are only part of the overall enhancements we are
making to TIE Fighter.
GAME FEATURES
* Original TIE Fighter game with seven battles, plus the add-on
campaign, Defender of the Empire.
* The thrilling conclusion to TIE Fighter, which includes three
all new battles with 22 new missions available only on the CD,
bringing the total number of missions in TIE Fighter to over
100!
* Four all new cutscenes as well as some enhanced original
cutscenes.
* Fully digitized voice briefings and debriefings by both the
Flight Officer and the Secret Order Priest.
* Digitized radio messages, to make combat even more
heart-pounding, as you hear the frantic radio chatter that
occurs during fierce confrontations.
* New Hi-Res graphics with upgraded cockpits, new explosions and
other dramatic special effects.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
1.) Boot Disk
The TIE Fighter Demo runs in Protect Mode. Most computers with 8MB
of RAM will NOT be able to run the demo immediately after exiting
Microsoft Windows or with Windows-optimized startup files. If you
encounter any problems running the demo, please make a boot disk.
You can make a boot disk by selecting the Make Boot Disk option
from the Main menu on the Archive demo CD-ROM. Or by typing
"bootdisk" from the root directory of your CD-ROM.
Additional information can be found by refering to the Reference
Manual.
2.) If the opening is not smooth, or seems "jerky", make sure you
have disabled or removed any CD-ROM caching programs, such as
SMARTDRIVE. Also make sure your CD-ROM driver is not caching
as well.
3.)If you are using MSCDEX, make sure the switch /M: is set to
/M:4.
SOUND ISSUES
1.) CRYSTALIZER PLUG AND PLAY: iMUSE, our sound configuration
utility, will detect this card as a Sound Blaster Pro. It will
not work properly with this driver, therefore you must choose the
Sound Blaster or Sound Blaster 2.0 diver from the custom setup
menu.
2.) MEDIACHIPS MAD16: iMUSE, our sound configuration utility, will
detect this card as a Sound Blaster Pro. It will not work
properly with this driver, therefore you must choose the Sound
Blaster or Sound Blaster 2.0 driver from the custom setup menu.
