After being a very permanent fixture at LucasArts for the past 13 years, veteran game designer Hal Barwood is leaving LucasArts. Marek of Adventure Gamers fame just pointed me to this story over at Gamasutra for more details. While at LucasArts, Barwood worked on games including Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Big Sky Trooper, Yoda Stories, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, and most recently RTX Red Rock. Mojo wishes Mr. Barwood the best of luck in whatever's next.

Ye best be brushin up on your pirate lingo, as today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day. To pass the day in a right piratey fashion, we be recommendin' playin' all three Monkey Islands, or watchin' the, er, piratical Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Arr.

And, of course, it be too late to alter course, mateys, and there be plundering pirates lurking in every cove, waitin' to board. Sit closer together and keep yer ruddy hands inboard! That be the best way to repel boarders. And mark well me words, mateys, Dead men tell no tales!

The excellent Listen to Me website has conducted an interview with Richard Horvitz, voice of Invader Zim. However, and more importantly, he voices the character of Raz in Tim Schafer's Psychonauts. Here's a quote we stole:

"Psychonauts is something I'm very proud of. When I went to San Francisco to do SketchFest 2003 with Fred Willard, I got to met Tim Schafer and went to where he works. He's a great guy and a friend of mine, although we only met through the project"
