New Telltale Series To Be Unveiled at E3 08 May, 2009, 21:41 / 18 comments

In a press release sent out today to promote the release of the latest Wallace & Gromit episode 'The Last Resort', an interesting little fact appeared at the end.

Last but not least, we’re gearing up for E3. If you’ll be at the show and would like to see Telltale’s newest games, let’s schedule a meeting! We will be showing a sneak peek of the final Wallace & Gromit episode, plus a brand new series that we’re announcing at the show. Should be pretty exciting…
I've confirmed from Emily at Telltale that this new series is not the third season of Sam & Max but is an entirely new series. Will it be Telltale's first original IP or another exciting license? We'll find out June 2-4th!

And for those of you who haven't bought Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures yet, here's a new video.

I don't think anyone looks at these comments anymore, but Telltale recently put a survey online asking all kinds of questions about a new version of Telltale Texas Hold Em...

I hope it's a new IP, and by "new" I mean new. Yes, I'm looking at you, Mr. Tiller and your totally-not-Monkey-Island game.

    Ooooh, tough crowd.

I hail from the harsh barrens of Russia that are always covered with snow and infested with polar bears. It's impossible to survive here if you don't stand up for what you believe in.

That WOULD make a good premise for an adventure game!

Exciting.. I do miss Sam & max tho..

Hoping for a Duke Nukem adventure game.

Where the hell is Sam and Max 3? It has to be their cash cow... why are they waiting so long to even announce it? I don't want them picking up a 4th license until they keep up with the ones they have.

Patience. And as far as I know, Strong Bad makes as much money as Sam and Max. Let them do what they want, you know? And besides, it's only been a year since the last one.

I'm expecting Sam & Max towards the end of the year, but if they can get as exciting a licence as W&G - or even better, make their own - I don't mind waiting for the dog & lagomorph duo.

I would be more excited if their last offerings (Strong Bad and W&G) had been more challenging. Of course I'm curious to know what experiments in presentation and/or interface and/or game design they're cooking, but I'm not looking forward to anything really engaging on the gameplay level.

Give W&G a chance. And you know, I would say "Make it harder" too, if it weren't for the fact that way too many people already do get stuck in these games.

Excellent, Telltale's announcement trailers for their new series are always awesome. My money is on a new IP, considering Kevin Bruner's recent remarks about 'original IP ready to go'. I don't think they mean CSI, but we can be pretty sure they're making that one as well.

If it's not an original IP, I'll just go with the same thing I say every time: Episodic Discworld. They have to some day, right?
  • Haggis on 09 May, 2009, 11:53…
I really hope it's Discworld. Probably not though...

This is fantastic news. I don't know they'll be able to top the Wallace and Gromit licence, but if anyone can it's Telltale. I can't wait to see what it is.

    Futurama!!

If Tabacco would get to decide, this would propably be the series for Telltale?

And if I got to decide that would be the series of my choice. With the original voice actors of course and also Matt Groening very much in with the development hehehe...
  • neon_git on 09 May, 2009, 11:53…
Oh man, that would be perfectly perfect.
