LucasArts releases zero (0) additional classics on Steam 07 Apr, 2011 / 6 comments

Could this scandalously obscene neglect have been the impetus for some LEC vets jumping ship to form a new studio? Unlikely!

Gamasutra reports that four veterans from LucasArts and EA have founded November Software in the Bay Area. Apparently the folks in question were involved in the tech for both Force Unleashed titles. Jumping on the lucrative social gaming craze, the company "aims to bring streaming 3D content to web and mobile-based social games."

Their first project will be called Inemeri: A Familiar World, which will be "coming to the web as well as iOS devices," and will have a closed beta during the summer. And so concludes The International House of Mojo's coverage of this company. Best of luck, you guys!

Update: Sorry if any of you witnessed a code blow-up in this news post earlier. I ran into a "divide by number of new LEC Steam releases" error that had to be fixed.

I didn't even realize this had happened to Planet Moon. How awful! If only Infected hadn't sucked.

Yeah, exactly the same thing happened to them as Ritual - they just got bought up by a social/family gaming publisher and made to churn out crap.

Still, they're slightly better off than Ritual. I mean, who could look at SiN and think "we need to get these guys making family-orientated minigames!"?

Shame this will be a social games thing. Every time an experienced team is thrown into the social games route, like Planet Moon or Ritual, a little piece of my love of gaming dies.

Ugh, I know. :( Ritual broke my heart.
Edit, seconds later: And I didn't even realize this had happened to Planet Moon. How awful! If only Infected hadn't sucked.

Telltale's only one word, unless you call them Telltale Games, which in that case you'd have to say Autumn Moon Entertainment and Double Fine Productions.

Curse you, Tingler, and your pedantic instupitiousness! If we were insult swordfighting, you would advance. Probably to the left - I only played as Guybrush as he is always on the left. You're the NPC, is what I'm saying.

    I need sleep.

So how many companies can LucasArts spawn? (DF, TT, AM, RG@HH, RG@HE, CE, and now NS - did I miss anything? Because that's 6 companies, and 1 DeathSpank!) Notice how all of the companies have two words in their names (except for Hothead, but they hardly count) yet not one of them use a word that begins with L!

I arrived to work today with an email open to the mojo powers that be - I caught news yesterday, but had to do actual work at work!
